Every AMEDEO commission begins the way it has for six generations — with a pencil in hand. Before a single shell is touched, the likeness is studied, sketched, and refined until it is truly yours. Only then does the carving begin.

THE CONVERSATION
You speak directly with our design studio — with Amedeo and his carvers, not a call centre. Share your photograph or idea, and together we shape the subject, the stone, the metal, and how you'll wear it.

THE DESIGN
We prepare a sketch for your approval. Nothing is carved until the likeness feels exactly right.

THE CARVING
By hand, in our studio in Torre del Greco — never a factory. We send you photographs of the work in progress for your approval, so you witness your piece take form and shape it with us.

THE SETTING
The same hands, the same studio. We design and handcraft the jewel around your Cameo in-house — in Precious Metals and fine Gemstones, fully customized to your exact wishes, from the first sketch to the final setting.

You are commissioning an artist — not placing an order with a factory.
Every AMEDEO Cameo is carved by hand in our family studio in Torre del Greco, Italy — the birthplace of the art since 1857. From the first conversation you speak with the design studio itself, and throughout the carving we send you photographs of the work in progress for your approval. You are part of the creative process, shaping your piece with us — not simply a client ordering online.
A commission is reserved with a deposit once we have agreed the design and the price together. It secures the artist's time and begins the carving; the balance is settled on completion. This is how a piece made for you alone comes into being.
Every commission is made to order and carved entirely by hand. Allow three to four weeks of carving once the design is approved. Each piece is one of one — signed by the house of AMEDEO.
