A satyr is a creature from Greek mythology, often depicted as having the upper body of a human and the lower body of a goat, complete with goat's legs and often a tail. Satyrs were known for their playful, mischievous, and often lecherous nature, embodying the untamed aspects of the natural world. They were frequently associated with Dionysus, the god of wine, revelry, and wild festivity, and were often portrayed in art and literature as lovers of music, dance, and physical pleasures. In classical depictions, satyrs can be identified by their goat-like features, exuberant attitudes, and sometimes by the carrying of musical instruments like the pan flute.
